Zebracat Super Cat: 40 videos for $99 vs 40 avatar ads on Sume
Zebracat lists 40 videos for $99 a month. Forty 30-second avatar ads on Sume are $220.80 at Standard. Where each price makes sense.
Zebracat's pricing page, read today, lists Cat Mode at $39 a month for 15 videos, Super Cat at $99 for 40 videos, and Unlimited Cat at $199, with annual prices of $23, $59 and $119. If your unit of work is "one finished video," those numbers are easy to compare to anything that bills per video.
Price per finished video
Dividing the monthly price by the video count gives $39 / 15 = $2.60 on Cat Mode and $99 / 40 = $2.475 on Super Cat. On Sume, an avatar ad is billed per second, and the quality tier changes the rate. The avatar video docs list standard, plus and max, with plus as the default, and accept scripts that run 4 to 60 seconds.
| Option | Rate | Cost for 40 videos |
|---|---|---|
| Zebracat Super Cat | $99 a month, 40 videos | $99.00 |
| Zebracat Super Cat, annual | $59 a month | $59.00 |
| Sume Avatar Video, standard | $0.184 per second | $220.80 |
| Sume Avatar Video, plus (default) | $0.245 per second | $294.00 |
What the table does not say
Zebracat's page lists a video count, not a length or an avatar tier, so the rows are not like for like. A Zebracat video may be shorter or built from stock footage instead of a talking avatar; I did not read that. Sume's figures are for a talking avatar speaking for the full 30 seconds.
Choosing between them
- If your ads are template-driven and you need 40 a month, a fixed subscription at about $2.48 a video is cheaper than a talking avatar at $5.52 for 30 seconds.
- If you need a specific avatar speaking an exact script, or the ad is triggered by your own system through an API, per-second pricing lets you pay for what you generate, and the estimate is shown before the job runs.
- If volume is lumpy, such as a launch week of 40 ads followed by nothing, the wallet avoids paying for the quiet weeks. Check your plan concurrency first: Pro runs 4 jobs at once.
