Trim a UGC ad down to its hook: frame-accurate cut for $0.02
Sume video trim cuts a start/end range from a hosted clip into a new MP4 for $0.02 a job. Exact vs keyframe precision, the 0.2-900 s duration, and import first.

To cut the first seconds of an ad into a hook-only clip, call POST /v1/video-trim with video_url, start and exactly one of end or duration. Sume returns a new MP4 and leaves the source untouched. The public rate is $0.02 per job, with no model inference, only worker ffmpeg. Source: Video trim.
The fields
Use exact for hook cuts, because keyframe may start a GOP early.
| Field | Behaviour |
|---|---|
start | In-point in seconds, required |
end or duration | Exactly one; duration is 0.2-900 |
precision | exact (default, frame-accurate re-encode) or keyframe (stream copy) |
audio | keep (default) or drop |
Idempotency-Key | Required header |
Import first
The source must be on this workspace's media.sume.com host. Off-host URLs are rejected at admit, so import with POST /v1/media-imports first.
Limits
Source up to 1800 s, output between 0.2 s and 900 s. The result's video_url is a new artifact, and you can drop it into a timeline with source_in 0.
