TikTok's content quality standard for creator commercial content
TikTok grades Creator Marketplace branded videos on image, sound and content quality and wants a hook in 6 seconds. What it says, plus a Sume pre-check.

TikTok's content quality standard applies to creators submitting commercial content through TikTok Creator Marketplace for branded collaborations. A video that fails the baseline for image, sound or content quality is classed as low quality and rejected, and the creator can resubmit a revised video or request an appeal in the Monetization section (read 2026-10-03).
If an AI-made clip is going into that flow, the page gives you the checklist. It says nothing specific about AI-generated video, so treat what follows as the general standard and not an AI rule.
What does the standard grade?
The page splits the standard into three dimensions. Only the third has baseline requirements that cause rejection.
| Dimension | What the page lists |
|---|---|
| User experience | Authenticity and trustworthiness, resonance and aspirational value, engagement, entertainment value, information sharing |
| Commercial value | Product presentation: clear demonstration of product info, usage, effects and scenarios |
| Image quality (baseline) | Clarity, stability and aesthetics, with proper lighting and composition |
| Sound quality (baseline) | Clear, audible, properly synced with visuals, free of prolonged background noise |
| Content quality (baseline) | Complete, consistent visuals, audio and text with clear logic |
| Creative production | Capture attention within the first 6 seconds; thoughtful editing and music |
Which parts can an AI clip fail?
Sound sync is the usual weak spot of generated clips: a voice that drifts from the mouth, or music that cuts under speech. Stability and composition matter as well, because a clip that warps between frames reads as unstable.
Authenticity and trustworthiness is a graded theme too, with credible communication that reflects genuine product use. An avatar demo that presents itself as a customer's own experience runs into the endorsement rules in TikTok bans AI-generated endorsements.
How do I pre-check a clip with Sume?
Video inspect reads one clip on media.sume.com. Pass frames: { "at": [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] }, which takes 1 to 24 explicit timestamps, to see the first six seconds as stills and judge the hook. With seek left at its default precise, each still decodes to the exact instant.
For sound, probe.has_audio tells you whether a track exists, and transcribe: true returns text and words[] with the public rate listed at $0.01 per audio minute in the docs. A transcript shows what was said and when; it cannot say whether audio is clear or synced, so listen to the final mix yourself. Verify a spoken disclosure is in the final mix shows the word-time check.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-inspect \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: quality-precheck-001" \
-d '{
"video_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/collab.mp4",
"frames": { "at": [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] },
"transcribe": true
}'A short review list before submitting
Go through these on the final export, not on a draft.
- Look at the first six stills: does something happen that would make a viewer stay?
- Listen for hiss, clipping and drift between voice and picture.
- Check that visuals, audio and text tell one story with no missing pieces.
- If rejected, revise and resubmit or appeal in the Monetization section, as the page describes.
