Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday ad plan with AI video Formats
Adobe puts Thanksgiving at $6.9B, Black Friday $12.9B and Cyber Monday $15.1B. A four-day content plan using Sume Formats, with a cap on each run.

A realistic plan for Thanksgiving week is to make every video before Thanksgiving and spend the week on scheduling and checking. Adobe's forecast, reported 2026-09-29, gives four numbers for the stretch: Thanksgiving $6.9 billion, Black Friday $12.9 billion, Cyber Monday $15.1 billion, and $47.5 billion for the five days from Thursday to Monday.
The numbers
These are Adobe's projections for US online spend, with year-on-year growth in brackets. Treat them as timing signals.
| Day | Forecast | Growth |
|---|---|---|
| Thanksgiving | $6.9B | 8.5% |
| Black Friday | $12.9B | 9.2% |
| Cyber Monday | $15.1B | 6.2% |
| Five days combined | $47.5B | 7.4% |
A plan that fits the days
Make three kinds of asset, each with a Sume Format. A short teaser for Thanksgiving, an offer clip for Black Friday and a last-chance clip for Cyber Monday. Use a fast Format such as sume-slideshow or sume-video-hook for the offer clips, and a product Format for the hero.
Make all of them early in November, and put the finished files in a folder with the planned post time in the file name. Use a different Idempotency-Key for each asset, so a retry never repeats or confuses two clips.
What to leave for the week
Leave only edits. Swapping a price or a date in a caption is faster in an editor than regenerating video, and it avoids spending on a rerun. Keep a spare budget with a cap on each run for the one clip that fails review.
The week is also a busy one for you. Batch your review into one sitting per day, and reject any clip whose on-screen text you cannot read at a glance.
Do not treat the forecast as a promise
The figures come from a forecast made in September, and real spending may land above or below it. Use the shape of the week, with the biggest day last, to decide what you post when, and rely on your own store's data for how much to push each day.
Keep a record
A tight week leaves no time to rediscover what you did. Keep a short log beside the files: the Format slug, the exact instruction, the Idempotency-Key and the final cost from the receipt. When something works, you can repeat it on demand, and when something fails, you can see what changed between the two runs.
