Synthesia Starter 12 and Pro 60 minutes a month: how many clips
Synthesia lists about 12 video minutes on monthly Starter and 60 on Pro. Divide by clip length to plan; Sume avatar clips run 4 to 60 seconds each.
Synthesia's pricing page lists about 12 minutes of video per month on the monthly Starter plan (1,250 credits) and about 60 minutes on monthly Pro (6,000 credits). Dividing by clip length gives a quick count: 12 minutes is 24 clips of 30 seconds, and 60 minutes is 120. Sume bills per rendered clip rather than from a monthly allowance, and each avatar clip must estimate between 4 and 60 seconds, so the same arithmetic tells you how many jobs you would submit, not what they cost.

The arithmetic
The table uses only Synthesia's stated minutes. It is a ceiling, not a promise: the page says approximate minutes, and credit use can differ with the features you add.
| Plan (monthly billing) | Stated minutes | 15-second clips | 30-second clips | 60-second clips |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter ($29) | about 12 | 48 | 24 | 12 |
| Pro ($89) | about 60 | 240 | 120 | 60 |
| Basic (free) | 10 | 40 | 20 | 10 |
What changes on Sume
There is no monthly minute bucket in the Sume docs I read. You submit jobs, and they reserve and settle against your balance, so the planning unit is the number of clips times the per-clip price for the quality tier. Take the current per-second figures from the pricing page or the dashboard before you multiply; this post does not quote them because they change.
- Standard is the fastest tier, plus is the default, max is the highest quality.
- A script that estimates under 4 seconds or over 60 is rejected.
- Split a 3-minute script into several jobs under 60 seconds.
A planning worksheet
Write down clips per week, average length and tier. Multiply to get weekly seconds, then compare with a monthly allowance if you are weighing a subscription. If your volume swings month to month, a bucket wastes money in quiet months; if it is steady, a bucket can be cheaper than per-clip billing. Neither is better in general.
Bottom line
Use the stated minutes to size a Synthesia plan and the per-clip price to size a Sume budget. Test with a handful of real scripts first. The jobs guide explains how to read cost and status once a clip is submitted.
