Suno v6 and label partners: what it means for an ad soundtrack
Suno's v6 post names WMG, BMG and Believe and upload screening. What a rights-minded team should check before using any AI music in a paid ad.

A label partnership on a music model is a useful signal, but it is not a licence for your ad. Suno's v6 post says v6 was built with WMG, BMG and Believe and that uploads are screened; for a paid ad, read the plan terms for your exact use and keep a record of what you generated.
What the v6 post states
The September 9 post lists three models and several editing tools. It also names partners and a screening step for uploaded audio.
| Item | Detail from the post |
|---|---|
| v6 | Main model |
| v6-wild | Pro and Premier plans |
| v6-mini | Free plan |
| Editing | Edit sections, mashups, lyric edits |
| Partners | Built with WMG, BMG and Believe |
| Uploads | Screening for uploaded audio |
What the post does not answer
The post describes how the model was built and how uploads are handled. It does not, in the part summarised here, say what an ad buyer may do with an output. Plan tier, territory, media type and paid placement are all questions for the terms page, and a partnership does not change what your plan allows.
- Which plan did you generate on, and does it cover paid advertising?
- Does the licence continue if you cancel the plan later?
- Did you upload any reference audio, and do you hold the rights to it?
- Can you show the prompt, date and plan for each track on request?
If you generate music through Sume instead
Sume's Music Router generates through POST /v1/music-router/generate. The job records the model you asked for in job.model and the engine that ran in job.request.routed_model, so the record of which engine made a track is part of the job. Pricing is a fixed Music price per generation. The router does not remove the need to read the terms of the engine; it only makes the record easy to keep.
A one-page record per track
Whatever tool you use, keep one line per track: the date, the service and plan, the prompt, the output file name, the job or generation id, and who approved it. Ten minutes at delivery saves a long search when a platform asks where a track came from.
